The world-renowned medical center will soon resume its operations. The reopening of this unique sanatorium after major renovation is a very important event. After all, Naftalan oil exists only in Azerbaijan. This therapeutic and balneological liquid, which has no analogue in the world, is used in the treatment of many diseases – including musculoskeletal disorders, rheumatic and degenerative muscle diseases, peripheral nervous system disorders, polyneuropathy, and paresis. Naftalan oil is also used for rehabilitation after serious injuries, surgical operations, and burns.
The sanatorium has been operating since 1926. Naturally, over the years the complex fell into a deteriorated state. The Karabakh war also caused significant damage – displaced persons were housed here, the flow of patients from other countries decreased, and other factors negatively affected the condition of the complex.
Within the framework of the State Program on the socio-economic development of the regions of Azerbaijan, signed by President Ilham Aliyev, the internationally significant Naftalan has also been given special attention. During his visit to Naftalan, President Ilham Aliyev stated: “Naftalan is a unique health and recreation zone, therefore it will be a focus of attention at the state level. Funds will be allocated from the state budget for the development of the resorts and sanatoriums located in this city. In the near future, Naftalan will turn into a resort city that meets world standards.”
Guided by the provisions of the State Program, INTEKS company carried out tremendous work in a short period of time, performing large-scale construction and renovation works on an area of 3,000 m². Thus, the main building was fully renovated, a new cafeteria was constructed, the rooms were replanned and thoroughly repaired, a new boiler house was built, the old laboratory was converted into residential space, and landscaping was carried out in the courtyard.
Modern exterior and interior design, comfortable conditions for accommodation and Naftalan bath treatments, a spacious dining hall, a clean green yard – everything is now in place for excellent rest and treatment. We are proud that Naftalan will restore its fame as a unique medical center of global importance, and that hundreds of thousands of people will find healing here – because our contribution is also a part of this success.
